PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Spring break is closing out this weekend for many Philadelphia area students and a group of about two dozen girls spent their time learning about poise and grace. The girls ranged in age from four to 17 and spent the week walking the runway in the basement of the Unitarian Church near 21st and Chestnut. “They learn runway walking. They also learn make up tips, fashion tips,” says Teresa Campbell, founder of TLC Charm, which began as an etiquette and finishing school for young girls and eventually expanded to a modeling camp that teaches confidence and self-esteem.

“They also learn poise and how to walk even if they are just walking down the street,” says Campbell, “because every hallway is a runway.”
“I wasn’t sure if I was going to trip in my heels and I’ve only taken goofy pictures with friends,” says Monee Williams, 14. She says the weeklong experience taught her a lot about herself and other girls. “We talked about how everyone is beautiful in their own way,” she says. “Even though we didn’t know and it was our first time everyone was very encouraging.” Tiffany McDonald, 16, says she’s putting what she learned to work. “I know I have to go on college interviews and they are going to want to see that I know how to talk with poise and eye contact,” she says. “And I learned that here.” The girls will show all that they’ve learned in a fashion show on April 13th.
